I love to create.
I am a creative through and through. I have always had to feed my urge to create, and because of this I have dabbled in poetry, painting, sewing, jewelry-making, costume creation, photography, and blogging. Creating is my passion, and because it’s also how I make my living, I get to live my dream job day in and day out, no matter where I work.
But wait… there’s more!
Creating is fun, and I love it. But it doesn’t completely fulfill me for some reason. Enter strategy and analysis. Throughout my career I’ve realized that while being a creative is neat, I need more. So I’ve sought out projects and roles that allow me to dive deep into data, analyze various pieces, and create processes and projects based on my findings. And as much as I love being a creative, I love flexing that analytical side of my brain too.
Behind all that fun is a hard-working, loyal employee.
Because I love what I do, I’m able to quickly become passionate about the company I work for. For me, work isn’t work. I pride myself on solid work and a strong understanding of the importance of adhering to a brand. In the office I’m the quiet-but-friendly employee who’s just as comfortable working with headphones on as she is chatting at the coffee pot.
I am adventurous, confident, and principled.
I am often mistaken for an extrovert, but enjoy a quiet space to retreat to. While sometimes I come across as no-nonsense, I love to laugh and try not to take myself too seriously. I have a strong desire to see quality in everything I produce. That need for perfection means I tend to hold my coworkers and team to the same standards I hold myself to. I am a loyal and determined person, and it reflects in my work ethic. Despite the fact that I tend to put my heart and soul into the things I create, I don’t take criticism personally.
I’m passionate about more than just creating.
I am proud to serve on the board for Gateway STEM Center, a 501(3)(C) non-profit organization in Springfield, Tennessee. Being on the board has given me an opportunity to help bring STEM programming to the youth of Robertson County and the surrounding areas, while also raise awareness of Gateway within the local community. I have also gotten to flex my creativity and create collateral for advertising events in Tennessee and Kentucky.
I’m an animal-lover and proud dog mom to a rescue mutt, Kirby. I also serve as her manager, running her Instagram account. I am a big advocate for rescuing animals from animal shelters and rescue organizations, and have been vocal against puppy mills since college.
As a style lover and former blogger, I love to express myself through what I wear and how I look. I have experimented with nearly every hair color and cut you can imagine (and maybe even some you can’t). I love costuming and attend Renaissance Faires regularly, and I’ve won two costume contests with my Steampunk Amelia Earheart costume.
I love trying new food and drinks. Local restaurants and breweries are among some of my favorite places to visit, whether I’m in my hometown or traveling to a new place.
And finally, I’m a firm believer that life is to be enjoyed, just like good food, time with friends and family, and sunsets.
